Bushfire disaster relief fundraising and pro bono update

Devastating bushfires are enveloping much of our beautiful country destroying everything in their wake and sending potent smoke across the nation and the world.

Our purpose as a firm is to support our clients, our people and our communities to thrive. In the midst of the unprecedented bushfire activity affecting many parts of Australia, we believe we have a responsibility to these same clients, people and communities to support relief efforts however we can.

As we write this, nearly 11 million hectares have burned, and there are still two months of bushfire season left to go.

We are working with the communities and our pro bono clients affected. We’re also working with Justice Connect to provide free legal help to people and communities in need and making lawyers available at recovery centres.

For a comprehensive article on the tax relief available to ease the pressure on individuals, families and businesses affected by the bushfires, please see our article here.

In addition to the firm’s donation to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, we are encouraging our staff (and our families and friends) to collectively donate to support those affected by the crisis.

For those willing and able to make a donation, we encourage you to do so as we look to help those who truly need it during this time.
