Having worked with a variety of clients across both the private sector and public sector, Harvey has significant experience in areas including general commercial/contractual disputes, trust disputes, shareholder disputes, regulatory disputes and investigations, banking and finance litigation, and insolvency.
He works closely with his clients to achieve commercially minded and cost-effective outcomes and has a keen interest in exploring how matters might be resolved without recourse to the courts.
Separate to his commercial practice, Harvey is passionate about facilitating access to justice in the broader community, having undertaken secondments with the Victorian and Aboriginal Legal Service, Refugee Legal, and the Law and Advocacy Centre for Women.
- Acting for the liquidators of an ASX-listed construction company in relation to $120 million insolvency dispute in the Federal Court of Australia.
- Acting for a national manufacturer in relation to a product dispute brought by a South-Australian based customer against the manufacturer and a third party supplier.
- Acting for, and advising, a national manufacturer in respect of various issues relating to the supply and delivery of its product to large-scale public infrastructure projects in Melbourne and Brisbane.
- Acting for a major national bank in relation to a consumer/loan and fraud disputes, including litigated claims in the County Court of Victoria and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
- Acting for a corporate developer in relation to a multi-million breach of contract claim in the Supreme Court of Victoria concerning an industrial development in the South-Eastern Melbourne.
- Acting for, and advising, a corporate trustee in Supreme Court of Victoria proceedings concerning the sale of a medium-scale residential development.
- Acting for a government-owned transport organisation in relation to a sub-contractor payment dispute in the Supreme Court of Victoria, including drafting court documents, attending to discovery, and preparing briefs and memoranda to Counsel.
