Applications are open now for our next Frank Lab, to be held in Sydney on 6-7 May 2026. Applications close on Friday 13 March 2026. 

Frank Lab is designed for ambitious startups, commercial or impact driven, that are solving real-world problems and preparing to scale.

Assessment criteria

Applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria and evaluated on:

  • clarity of the problem and strength of the solution;
  • team capability and dynamics;
  • evidence of customer traction;
  • capital readiness and investor appeal; and
  • anticipated legal and professional support needs.

We’d like to hear all about you and your business and how you see it growing. This could include your ‘elevator pitch’, as well as information about you and your clients, links to videos or existing marketing material – it’s up to you. [Word limit = 1000 words]

Please confirm whether your business is geared towards a transformative idea and business innovation that will help solve a commercial problem or address a significant social need.

Eligible startups include those creating products in the following: AI/machine learning; Blockchain and Web3; DeFi; cybersecurity; gaming development; B2B tech (eg DeepTech; university tech commercialisation); robotics; legaltech; advanced technology.

Please confirm whether you already have a minimum viable product which is ready (or close to ready) to go to market.

Please supply your go-to-market strategy:

Please confirm whether your business is revenue generating or can demonstrate imminent user adoption of your business’s product or service.

Please confirm whether you intend to raise capital (Series A or greater) in the next 6-12 months.

Please confirm whether you will be entering into a significant commercial arrangement in the next 6-12 months.

Please confirm whether you have at least one full-time person working on the business.
