What is Frank Lab?

Frank Lab is Hall & Wilcox's startup accelerator program, designed to help ambitious businesses move their business to the next level with confidence.

Through Frank Lab, we support early stage, scaling businesses across a range of industries, from high-growth commercial ventures to purpose-driven enterprises, helping them sharpen strategy, overcome barriers, and reach key milestones sooner.

Each intake brings together around 10 businesses for a focused program of practical workshops, targeted seminars and curated networking opportunities. Participants gain access to the insights, tools and connections needed to scale sustainably and prepare for capital raising.

It’s how Hall & Wilcox backs the next generation of founders, combining legal expertise, commercial insight and meaningful connections to strengthen businesses at critical growth moments. Built on long-term relationships, we not only support the business, but the person behind it – partnering with founders as trusted advisors throughout their growth journey.

Interested startups should submit their applications by no later than Friday 13 March 2026. For successful applicants, Frank Lab will be held in Sydney on 6-7 May 2026.

Frank Lab is designed for ambitious startups, commercial or impact driven, that are solving real-world problems and preparing to scale.

Eligibility criteria

All applications are reviewed against our eligibility and assessment criteria, including whether they:

solve a genuine commercial problem or serve a significant social need;
have traction with customers or market validation;
are preparing to raise capital or scale into new markets;
have a significant market opportunity, with the potential to generate over A$100 million in annual gross profit; and
offer a product with operational leverage at scale, such as cloud-based software, mobile application or hardware.

Selected startups will join a cohort of approximately 10 businesses and participate in two days of focused workshops, mentoring and investor-ready support. No solicitor-client relationship will come into existence until an applicant is selected to join the program.

What to expect if you're selected

Frank Lab is a practical, hands-on and commercially focused program. As part of the program, selected startups receive:

$5000 credit to use on legal services and documentation;
a dedicated Hall & Wilcox lawyer as your trusted advisor;
a Wills and Estates founder's package to safeguard your personal and business assets and ensure you have planned for succession;
regular meetings to prioritise legal and commercial needs;
introductions to our network of investors, accountants and advisors; and
access to our workspace, technology and Smarter Law solutions.
