Jemima celebrated her five-year anniversary at Hall & Wilcox in March 2022.

Jemima commenced with the firm as a casual paralegal in the General Insurance team. In September 2017, Jemima was part of the first law graduate intake in Brisbane, before becoming a lawyer in January 2019.

Jemima is a great lawyer who has continued to develop her litigation skills. She combines a terrific work ethic with excellent legal and advocacy skills to provide clients with consistently great results.

We asked Jemima a few questions to reflect on her five years at the firm.

One of my earliest Hall & Wilcox memories is…

The entire team working in one small room (with bright blue carpet!) when the Brisbane office was still brand new. It’s amazing to look back and see how far we’ve come in five years.

A recent great achievement, highlight or result was when…

We finally settled a large recovery involving a truck driver who suffered a seizure, causing significant damage to buildings. Relentless digging revealed the driver’s claims about his medical history on his employment forms were not exactly compatible with his medical records! Also, organising a Hall & Wilcox cycling group and designing cycling kit (coming soon; watch out for some well-dressed cyclists on roads near you!).

When people ask me about working at Hall & Wilcox I tell them…

The culture is second to none, and I promise insurance law actually is a lot more interesting than it sounds.

Outside of Hall & Wilcox, you’ll find me…

Participating in triathlons, hiking, playing netball or going to the beach.

Hall & Wilcox acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, sea and waters on which we work, live and engage. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
