Connecting You: interview with Justice Michelle Quigley QC

We are delighted to welcome Justice Michelle Quigley QC, President of the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal, as the next guest in our ‘Connecting You’ series.
With social distancing restrictions easing, Kathryn Howard met with Justice Quigley to record a chat about life during the COVID-19 lockdown and beyond. Justice Quigley spoke about how being outside in nature refreshes her, the competition at team meetings to have the best Zoom backdrop and how it’s important to keep a sense of humour during anxious times. Her Honour also spoke about how VCAT has adapted to the new world, so that Australia’s busiest tribunal continues to deliver access to justice.
Justice Quigley was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 2002 and as a justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2017. In 2018, Her Honour was appointed as President of the VCAT, the first woman to hold that position. Justice Quigley is also well known for her work with the Abbotsford Convent Coalition in successfully opposing the Convent’s redevelopment, for which she received the PILCH/Law Foundation Pro Bono Award.
So take a break, make a cuppa and be inspired.
