Practices

With an extensive background in health before coming to law, Stephen has since practised for the past 22 years predominately in all aspects of personal injury law including motor accidents, public liability, product liability, work injury damages and injury management disputes. His particular expertise, however, is in workers compensation.

He has extensive experience in providing advice and advocating in a wide variety of workers compensation claims including but not limited to work injury damages, death and catastrophic injury claims, hearing loss, workplace motor vehicle accidents, coal miner and emergency service worker claims, general workplace claims and has in recent years developed a particular practice in psychological injury claims.

Experience

  • Stephen has acted in both NSW statutory and Commonwealth workers compensation matters appearing in the Workers Compensation Court, Personal Injury Commission, the residual jurisdiction of the NSW District Court, Personal Injury Commission, NSW District and Supreme Courts, the NSW Court of Appeal. In his Commonwealth practice, Stephen regularly appeared in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and has appeared in the Federal Magistrates Court, The Federal Court and the High Court of Australia.
  • He has run litigated workers compensation matters involving multiple parties and insurers in the Personal Injury Commission, NSW District and Supreme Courts, the Residual Jurisdiction of the NSW District Court, the NSW Court of Appeal and High Court of Australia. Stephen personally represents clients at Personal Injury Commission/ Personal Injury Commission teleconferences, conciliations, arbitrations and mediations.
