Practices

Nicholas is an insurance lawyer with over five years’ experience acting for most major Australian insurer and Lloyd’s of London Syndicates.

Nicholas has experience in property damage, public liability, professional indemnity, policy indemnity and fraud claims. Nicholas is known as being a technically excellent practitioner who understands the need to be commercial in litigation. He also, however, is able to identify and advise on strategic claims to be litigated to judgment.

Nicholas is an experienced advocate and has run matters in jurisdictions across Australia, including New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Canberra.

Nicholas volunteers his time at the Marrickville Legal Centre and as an ABCN mentor to underprivileged high school students.

Experience

  • Significant experience in litigating a broad range of property damage recovery and defended claims, including building and construction, large motor loss, arson and staged accidents, notably achieving a favourable settlement in a property damage recovery for a client who had a clear liability for his own damages.
  • Experience in defending large public liability claims for builders, occupiers and owners of premises, cleaners, and personal trainers, including nervous shock claims.
  • Experience in defending professional indemnity claims against engineers, accountants, architects, and lawyers.
