Experience
- Acting in all manner of claims involving personal injury arising in various industries and contexts including the multi-defendants disputes in the construction industry to claims in medical negligence.
- Acting in dependency and nervous shock claims often involving a workplace death, and assisting organisations and insurers to navigate OHS prosecutions.
- Acting in personal injury claims arising from transport accidents involving interstate vehicles and assisting insurers to navigate understanding the intricacies with the statutory scheme and cross-jurisdictional issues.
- Defending claims in false imprisonment, assault and battery, malicious prosecution, and misfeanace in public office, including acting for the State of Victoria in Biddle v State of Victoria [2015] VSC 275.
- Acted in a multi-plaintiff action (more than 30 plaintiffs) in defence of allegations of nuisance due to increased noise levels, and negligence causing property damage resulting from vibrations and dust caused in the construction and use of a new road.
- Representing organisations in coronial inquests into deaths.
- Acting and advising government entities in disputes relating to breaches of privacy, freedom of information and protected disclosures legislation.
- Acting and advising organisations in disputes involving compliance with anti-discrimination legislation and Victoria’s Charter of Human Rights.
- Acting in claims arising out of sex and physical abuse and bullying, including historical sexual abuse claims.
- Acting for principal and contractors in a claim under the Water Act 1989 involving property damage of farm land caused by flooding due to road works following a significant 1 in 100 flood event.
