Marianna graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2018, and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in December 2019.
Marianna has experience in civil litigation, and dispute resolution in all Victorian jurisdictions. She works for a wide range of clients including major Australian insurers, Lloyd’s of London Syndicates, VMIA and Government Authorities in public liability and personal injury claims.
Marianna has specialist expertise in acting for the Department of Education in relation to historical child abuse claims and has developed an ability to achieve good outcomes for clients whilst maintaining the appropriate sensitivity and compassion towards abuse victims.
Marianna is personable, reliable and trusted by her clients. She has a high-volume practice, which is testament to her work ethic, efficiency and practice management skills.
- Advising the Department of Education in relation to historical abuse claims, including advising on liability issues, contribution between various parties and quantum, to ultimately reach negotiated outcomes within the client’s reserve range.
- Acting for Councils’ in their role as Committees of Management with a focus on public use areas incluing hiking trails, embankments, peirs, and boat ramps.
- Acting for Lloyd’s of London Syndicates in relation to litigated assault claims involving the actions of patrons and security officers at nightclubs, pubs and evening event spaces including advising on complex liability, quantum and contribution disputes.
- Acting for a variety of cleaning companies in relation to slip and trip cases at shopping centres and providing advice in relation to contribution disputes.
- Acting for insurers against self-represented litigants in protracted and vexatious Court proceedings.
- Acting for host employers or occupiers in VWA disputes including paralel common law and recovery proceedings.
- Appearing against counsel at mediations, conferences and interlocutory hearings in all manner of injury claims including those involving physical injuries, nervous shock, dependency claims, and pure psychiatric injuries.v
