
Jessie brings experience in insurance litigation, collaborating with insurers across a broad spectrum of workers' compensation and public liability claims, with a particular focus on toxic torts such as asbestos and silicosis cases.
Jessie has extensive experience supporting insurers and employers in proceedings before both the District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia, across general and appellate jurisdictions. She has appeared at interlocutory hearings in the District Court and played a key role in applications before the Supreme Court.
Jessie is actively engaged in alternative dispute resolution, frequently attending conciliation conferences at WorkCover WA and mediations in the Supreme Court. Her approach is grounded in clarity and pragmatism, consistently providing timely, strategic advice to facilitate effective claim resolution
Experience
- Providing representation and strategic advice in relation to industrial disease and workers’ compensation claims, with a focus on both statutory and common law liability, including the client’s continuing exposure under the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2024 (WA), the Civil Liability Act 2002 (WA), and the Occupiers’ Liability Act 1985 (WA).
- Successfully negotiated and secured favourable outcomes for clients through conciliation and mediation processes.
- Acting as the instructing solicitor in an appeal before the Supreme Court of Western Australia, including the preparation of requisite court documents, conducting in-depth legal research and historical analysis of relevant legal principles, and providing support to Senior Counsel throughout the proceedings.
