Jamie is an experienced lawyer with a particular focus on fraudulent claims and plaintiff law firm related strategies. She has experience across the ambit of personal injury; medical negligence, product liability, work injury damages claims and occupier’s liability claims.
Jamie has solid knowledge of the Motor Accidents Injuries Act and the associated guidelines and provides technical advice to insurers on the implementation and ramifications of this legislation.
Jamie regularly provides advice to claims staff particularly with respect to liability, administrative review and procedural issues. She is well-known for her ability to translate legal concepts into plain English.
Experience
- Preparing submissions and advocating at assessment conferences, resulting in numerous favourable awards for the insurer where nil injuries and/or damages were found to result from accidents.
- Providing legal and technical advice to claims staff, particularly with respect to liability, administrative review and procedural issues.
- Successfully appearing in miscellaneous claims assessment matters securing a number of findings that the Claimant was mostly at fault
- Defending complex motor accidents claims in the District Court particularly those involving allegations of fraud.
