Isobel has over 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2008, Isobel subsequently moved to Brisbane in 2009 where she secured an in-house position with a large statutory insurer in Queensland.
Managing a high case load of panel managed files during her time at this insurer organisation gave Isobel the benefit of exposure to a variety of complex liability and quantum matters, multi-party claims and interstate claims. Working in-house has provided Isobel with a solid skill set in the management of common law claims for a large statutory insurer at Hall & Wilcox.
Isobel advises insurers with respect to liability and quantum. She represents the insurer and it’s customers at compulsory conferences and mediations. Isobel is able to successfully negotiate settlements both formally and informally.
At Hall & Wilcox, Isobel is actively involved in assisting the insurer’s customers through the common law claims process. Isobel is often the first point of contact when a common law claim is lodged. She has a real skill of engaging with the customer early and throughout the matter, to make sure that the legal process is understood. She quickly identifies the key issues and brings matters to resolution in an efficient and organised manner.
Isobel is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
