
Clare is a Partner in the Private Clients team at Hall & Wilcox. She is a highly experienced estate planning lawyer. Her specialisations include Wills (including bespoke Wills for High Net Wealth clients and clients with international connections and assets), testamentary trusts, probate and estate administration, trust administration, asset protection, succession of business interests and family trusts, superannuation, international estate planning, UK Inheritance Tax, UK succession and domicile issues, Powers of Enduring Guardian and Enduring Powers of Attorney. She has a particular interest in international estates and complex wealth structures.
Clare acts for a range of clients and prides herself on providing bespoke solutions to ensure a smooth succession of assets at the relevant time. Estate planning and estate administration can be emotionally difficult topics and Clare has a sensitive and personable approach to proactively guide and advise her clients.
Clare is admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales, and England and Wales. She has a Diploma in Trusts and Estates, an Advanced Certificate in Cross Border Estates and is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners, the international professional body for advisers specialising in inheritance and succession planning.
Experience
- Advising individuals and families on estate planning and assisting them to create a bespoke strategy to give effect to their succession objectives.
- Advising on succession matters for clients with assets overseas and/or international heritage or residency.
- Advising on asset protection and intergenerational wealth transfer, drafting complex Wills and documentation for incapacity.
- Providing estate planning strategies for clients with vulnerable beneficiaries and family members.
- Advising ‘blended’/step-families on suitable estate planning arrangements and tailored advice to mitigate the risk of estate litigation.
- Reviewing and amending Family Trusts and advising on succession of such entities.
- Advising on superannuation succesion.
- Advising Executors and beneficiaries in the administration of estates, including complex and international estates.
