
Alessia is experienced in all aspects of employment, workplace relations and workplace health and safety. She is also experienced in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Alessia has worked for a variety of clients across a range of industries, including government agencies, NDIS providers, recruitment agencies, transport companies and financial services businesses. Alessia is commercially minded and her comprehensive understanding of issues relating to industrial relations and employment law supports her in providing thorough advice to clients.
She has valuable experience assisting clients with complex litigation matters, including most recently a general protections and breach of contract claim in the Federal Court.
Experience
- Advising and successfully representing HEAD Oceania in response to general protection and breach of contract proceedings commenced in the Federal Court by its former managing director.
- Experience in employment litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, unfair dismissal applications, general protection proceedings and restraint of trade matters.
- Conducting workplace investigations, including in relation to large public sector clients.
- Advising on award compliance and underpayment of wages issues.
- Drafting and advising on employment-related documents, including employment contracts, workplace policies and procedures and contractor agreements.
- Advising on complex organisational restructures, the implementation of workplace change and redundancies.
- Advising on the transfer of business rules under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
- Assisting with disciplinary and performance matters, including drafting documentation in relation to sensitive and confidential terminations.
- Supporting clients in drafting and bargaining for enterprise agreements and preparing applications for approval by the Fair Work Commission.
