Hall & Wilcox strengthens legal and excellence capability with appointment of new General Counsel

Hall & Wilcox has appointed Stacy Ford as General Counsel, reinforcing the firm’s investment in strong governance, innovation and operational excellence as it continues its strategic growth. 

Stacy brings extensive experience across legal, risk and regulatory functions, having held senior roles within leading global law firms. He has advised on a broad range of strategic and governance matters, including AI governance, data and privacy, regulatory compliance and high-value contracts. 

The appointment also marks a transition for current General Counsel Mike Brookes, who will move into the newly created role of Company Secretary, working closely with the firm’s Board of Partners on governance matters and strategic initiatives. 

Hall & Wilcox Chief Operating Officer Sumith Perera welcomed Stacy to the firm, saying:

Stacy joins from Mallesons, where he spent five years as the Head of Legal within the Office of General Counsel. He commences with the firm on 7 July, based in the Sydney office.
