Hall & Wilcox Sydney office has established itself in the legal landscape after facilitating some major deals and attracting high-level talent in its first year, according to the leading independent business law firm.

The office was formally opened in February 2014, following the acquisition of the Sydney office of New Zealand law firm Duncan Cotterill. In addition to this, Hall & Wilcox has also acquired a senior insurance team from boutique firm McCabes, leading corporate / M&A specialist Danny Herceg and planning and property experts Stan Kondilios and Maurice Doria.

Tony Macvean, Managing Partner at Hall & Wilcox, said the Sydney office has already outgrown its office space as it quickly evolved from an employment practice to a full service team. “In 12 months, our headcount has grown by almost 300%, including a partner number increase from three to eight.”

Mr Macvean said a real achievement has been the synergy that has developed between the Melbourne and Sydney offices. “The offices and teams just fit together naturally, and our national clients have commented how well the cross-office teams combine to deliver consistent advice and service.”

Going forward, Mr Macvean commented that there are several exciting projects in the pipeline in both Sydney and Melbourne. “Opportunities are opening up for firms prepared to think progressively. Our team has shown strong leadership in collaboration, service innovation and flexibility, and we are confident this can be a driving force for us. ”

Hall & Wilcox acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, sea and waters on which we work, live and engage. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
