Hall & Wilcox launches art exhibition and acquisition program
Leading independent law firm Hall & Wilcox has launched an art Exhibition and Acquisition Program, which aims to support emerging Australian artists.
Each year Hall & Wilcox will host exhibits in its offices with launch events, allowing featured artists to share their works with staff and clients of Hall & Wilcox, who may also be potential buyers of the artworks.
The firm will also support exhibiting artists by acquiring selected works for display in the meeting rooms and client spaces of its Melbourne and Sydney offices, which offer an ideal space to display art.
The program provides emerging artists with a forum to build connections with the corporate sector, according to Hall & Wilcox Partner, Natalie Bannister. “As a progressive firm we look for inspiration in many places, and welcome the opportunity to support emerging artists.
“We hope the artists will benefit from being displayed in our Sydney and Melbourne offices.
“As a firm, we hope to further engage and inspire our staff and clients, encouraging innovation and progressive thinking in our own spheres of endeavour.”
The first exhibits will feature the works of Glenn Mossop and Mat de Moiser, and will be officially launched on 28 May 2015.
Submissions by artists working in all forms of media are welcome and will be considered for inclusion in the Art Exhibition and Acquisition Program by Hall & Wilcox’s selection committee.
In certain circumstances Hall & Wilcox will offer financial support of up to $1,500 to exhibiting artists to help cover the costs of the exhibition and will market each exhibition to its contact database and other media.
Ms Bannister concluded: “Hall & Wilcox aspires to build a legacy of supporting working artists who embrace a variety of materials and technologies and respond to different cultural contexts through their works and artistic expression.”
