Hall & Wilcox further expands Commonwealth Government practice
Hall & Wilcox has appointed Steve Patrick as Senior Commercial Counsel in its rapidly expanding Commonwealth Government practice. Steve will lead the firm’s Defence legal practice, adding depth to an already capable and highly regarded team.
Steve brings extensive experience across government, the commercial sector, Defence and law; comprising legal practice, advisory and public policy development. He has served as a Commissioned Officer in the Australian Defence Force, within industry, and within government as both a central agency and portfolio ministerial advisor; and has a unique insight into the strategic imperatives, operational requirements, and accountability frameworks of the Defence and national security community.
Steve is a genuine collaborator and offers both big-picture and critical-detail perspectives to our government and commercial clients. In addition to his strong background advising on regulatory and litigation matters, Steve has a deep understanding of the Commonwealth procurement framework, and his practice leverages the national resources of the Hall & Wilcox commercial arm.
Chief Executive Partner Graydon Dowd said, ‘Steve’s strong regulatory, governance and commercial experience will be vital in creating value for agencies in the Defence portfolio and to the Commonwealth more broadly.’
Steve noted that ‘This is an important time for the Defence ecosystem – government, the private sector, and the sovereign industrial base – and I’m thrilled to be part of this service offering within a firm that has impeccable credentials and a track record of providing consistently high-quality legal services.’
Steve’s appointment reflects Hall & Wilcox’s ongoing commitment to partnering with government as a trusted legal advisor on complex and strategically significant work.
