Hall & Wilcox has appointed experienced finance industry professional Stephen Knight to its board, as the firm’s second external board member.
Pete Williams has sat on the Hall & Wilcox board since 2014. Pete is the Chief Edge Officer, and was previously a Partner and Head of Digital, at Deloitte. Pete has made, and continues to make, a significant and valuable contribution to the firm, in particular as a leader and driver of the firm’s Smarter Law and innovation strategy.
The firm is delighted to appoint Steve as a second external board member.
Steve has extensive experience and credentials, particularly in finance, investment banking, funds management and public sector finance. He holds a number of board and committee roles, including with ASX Clearing and Settlement, and the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation. He was chief executive of the NSW Treasury Corporation from 2005-2015 and has held senior roles with UBS Australia, ANZ and National Mutual Royal Bank.
Steve is also an executive coach for CEO and C-level executives across a range of industries.
Managing Partner Tony Macvean said Steve’s experience and insight will be especially valuable to the firm as it continued to challenge itself to grow and improve.
‘Steve will provide us with additional external perspective and knowledge,’ Tony said.
‘We especially look forward to Steve supporting us with our NSW, Commonwealth and public sector growth objectives. More generally, Steve’s wisdom and external perspective will be valuable. We want to be challenged to continue to enable our clients, our people and our communities to thrive, and Steve and Pete will do just that.’
Steve Knight said, ‘Hall & Wilcox has experienced tremendous recent growth. I am excited about being able to help the firm continue its growth trajectory, particularly in NSW and the public sector. I feel that the firm’s values strongly align with my own, and think that I will be able to make a meaningful contribution to the next chapter of the Hall & Wilcox story.’
