Hall & Wilcox advises Revolution Asset Management on strategic partnership with ColCap Financial
Hall & Wilcox has advised leading Australian private debt manager Revolution Asset Management on its strategic partnership with non-bank mortgage lender ColCap Financial.
This partnership brings together ColCap’s expertise in residential and specialised lending with Revolution’s institutional-grade private credit capabilities across Australia and New Zealand. Revolution will continue to operate independently, while leveraging ColCap’s origination, funding scale, and distribution reach to enhance value for investors and borrowers.
As part of the transaction, ColCap acquired a minority 14 per cent interest in Revolution, while Channel Capital, who provides Revolution with funds management infrastructure, retains a 25.8 per cent interest. Revolution’s investment team retains majority ownership, ensuring continuity of leadership, strategy and alignment of interest with investors.
Hall & Wilcox advised Revolution on all legal aspects of the transaction, working closely with global investment banking advisor Berkshire Global Advisors, the exclusive corporate advisor to Revolution.
The Hall & Wilcox deal team included Partner Chris Brown, Senior Associate Rebecca Radbone and Associate Orhai Shiba.
Partner Chris Brown said ‘We were delighted to assist Revolution with bringing this partnership to life. It marks an exciting milestone for Revolution and the other participants. This and other recent transactions confirm Hall & Wilcox’s position as the leading independent law firm in Australia providing transactional and other legal advice to the funds management sector.’
