Hall & Wilcox advises Doors Plus on sale to a Colinton Capital Partners-managed vehicle

News3 Sept 2025

Hall & Wilcox has advised the owners of Doors Plus on the successful sale of the business to a vehicle managed by mid-market private-equity sponsor, Colinton Capital Partners. The transaction completed on 1 September 2025, marking a significant milestone for one of Australia’s most recognised home-improvement brands.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Sydney, Doors Plus manufactures and retails an extensive range of internal, external and security doors through a national footprint of company-owned and partner showrooms. The business is best known for its ‘No Fuss’ approach to product innovation and customer service and has grown to become a market leader in the Australian door and home-renovation sector.

Doors Plus and its shareholders were advised by Ellerston Capital Solutions (Martin Hanrahan, Jarrod Silbert, Baillie Waller), the corporate-advisory division of Ellerston Capital, an independent Australian fund manager with a long track record of partnering with private and public companies. Accounting and structuring advice and project support were provided by Spry Roughley. Tax advice and Transaction Services were provided by BDO (Marcus Leonard, Sebastian Stevens, Waqar Ali, Randall Glasfurd) .

Our role as vendors’ counsel covered all corporate, finance and real estate aspects of the transaction, including structuring the deal and negotiating the share sale, providing project support on complex trade and real estate finance arrangements, and attending to the sale and lease-back of a property portfolio including in excess of 12 company-owned sites.

The Hall & Wilcox team included Chris Brown (Partner, M&A), Rebecca Radbone (Senior Associate, M&A), Brooke Lynskey (Associate, M&A), Katrina Reye, Alison Garland and Mikaela Bensley (Property & Projects), and Mark Inston and Lydia Shen (Banking & Finance).

The matter demonstrates Hall & Wilcox’s ability to assemble a seamless, cross-practice team to deliver practical legal outcomes for clients undertaking complex transactions.

‘It was a privilege to work with the Doors Plus founders and management, alongside the Ellerston team and other top advisers, to achieve this result,’ said Chris Brown. ‘We congratulate Colinton on their investment and thank all the other advisers for the spirit of cooperation throughout the process. Transactions of this nature highlight the strength of our integrated corporate, finance and real-estate offering and our commitment to helping Australian businesses realise their strategic objectives.’
