Hall & Wilcox adds new partner to Sydney team
Leading business law firm, Hall & Wilcox, has further strengthened its Corporate & Commercial team by appointing former Minter Ellison partner, Christopher Brown.
John Hutchinson, Corporate & Commercial section leader, said that Chris joins a growing corporate presence in the Sydney office, following the appointment of partner Jacqui Barrett last September. “Chris is a talented lawyer with wide experience across business law, M&A and financial services transactions in Australia, the UK and Europe.
“He will be a great asset for our firm’s national insurance and financial services industry focus.”
Chris was previously a partner in Minter Ellison’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group in Sydney. Other roles include corporate counsel with a leading global financial institution and top-tier experience as a solicitor in London and Paris.
Chris has advised some of Australia’s largest financial institutions and others on M&A, fundraising and general corporate/commercial matters. He has a strong track record in Asian in-bound investment (notably involving Japanese companies).
John Hutchinson further commented that “Chris is a pragmatic, solutions-focussed lawyer with vast experience acting for clients locally, in the region and internationally.”
Commenting on his appointment, Chris said that a major attraction was the shared values and vision at Hall & Wilcox. “I am delighted to be joining Hall & Wilcox with its commitment to Smarter Law and its clear focus on service delivery. The firm is poised to take advantage of growth opportunities in the local Sydney market, nationally and in the region”.
