Beyond the Breach - Aligning Consumer and Business Expectations in Cyber Incident Response
What are the top concerns around cyber incidents for business leaders and consumers? We partnered with Porter Novelli to survey C-suite executive leaders, board directors and ordinary Australians to understand the impact of cyber incidents on business and consumer sentiment.
The report revealed the high importance placed on privacy, with 75 per cent of Australians caring more about the privacy of their data than any benefits from the convenience of online technology.
We wanted to understand consumer expectations regarding the way organisations behave when they have suffered a cyber incident, and the disconnects between consumer expectations and business leaders’ views on what their obligations and priorities should be during a cyber incident.
Key findings include that financial data tops concerns, consumers demand faster speed of information, organisations are not doing enough to protect customer trust.
We also offer three key tips for what business leaders can do if they suffer a cyber incident.
