
Sophie works in our dispute resolution team, specialising in corporate and personal insolvency. She acts for liquidators and bankruptcy trustees in relation to voidable transaction claims, public examinations, remuneration applications, applications for directions and proceedings relating to the sale of property in both liquidation and bankruptcy contexts. Sophie also regularly acts for administrators in relation to the preparation of deeds of company arrangement and advising on issues which arise in voluntary administration.
In addition, Sophie also acts for a wide range of corporate clients, including financiers and builders, helping to recover outstanding debts and advising on strategy and the impact of insolvency processes on recovery options.
Clients value Sophie for her commercial approach to recovery actions and her focus on obtaining the best possible outcome for her clients.
Sophie regularly represents clients in the Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria, Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She is currently the chair of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Vic/Tas Young Professionals committee and has served as a committee member since July 2023.

- Acts on behalf of liquidators in voidable transaction claims, breaches of directors' duties claims and in public examinations in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of New South Wales, Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
- Acts on behalf of bankruptcy trustees in respect of voidable transaction claims and proceedings relating to the sale of property in which the bankrupt has an interest.
- Advises liquidators, voluntary administrators and receivers on their obligations, the rights of creditors to request information and convene meetings.
- Acts on behalf of medium and large corporates in the construction space, assisting in recovering outstanding debtors and advising on the impact of insolvency processes on their recovery options.
