She has extensive experience across all aspects of property law including retail, commercial and industrial leasing, property and business acquisitions, property development and liquor licensing.
Peta’s area of expertise is leasing, having acted for both landlords and tenants. She has acted for local councils, national retail tenants, institutional landlords, shopping centre owners, small and large scale developers, the Queensland Government, and small businesses, across a number of jurisdictions.
With a commercial approach and strong client focus, Peta works with a broad range of stakeholders to help them identify common interests and to achieve desired outcomes.
- Acted for a leading wholesale distribution and marketing company and supermarkets involving complex lease, development and purchase transactions for sites and liquor licensing issues throughout Queensland, and negotiating supply and wholesale agreements between the distribution company and individual retailers.
- Acted for a restaurant chain and retailer in relation to their national leasing portfolio from new lease negotiations and lease renewals, lease extensions and variations and advising on various mid-term landlord-tenant issues.
- Acted for mining companies on the acquisition of various parcels of mining land by way contracts of sale, option agreements and long-term leases including the preparation of due diligence and transaction structuring advices.
- Acted on the sale of a heritage listed hotel, which involved rectifying a number of titling issues with neighbouring land owners as pre-conditions to settlement.
- Acted for Local Councils in a range of property matters including advising on the real property aspects of the construction of an infrastructure project, drafting and negotiating a development lease, drafting and negotiating various new access easements and long-term leases.
- Acted for the foreign owners of a groundbreaking billion dollar luxury hotel and mixed use development on the Gold Coast, in their application to obtain the commercial special facility licence for the hotel and retail areas of the development.
