In 2015, Olivia was admitted to the bar in New Zealand. From 2017 to 2019, Olivia worked in London, United Kingdom, before relocating to Sydney and joining the Hall & Wilcox Statutory Insurance team.
In her previous role, Olivia represented clients who had suffered from a work place injury and collaborated with WorkSafe NZ to conduct prosecution proceedings. In the UK, Olivia represented clients within the National Health Service (NHS) in particular nurses who had suffered an injury whilst at work. She collaborated with staff, hospital directors, and local MPs to ensure policies, procedures and regulations were being reviewed regularly.
Since joining Hall & Wilcox, Olivia has successfully taken on the challenge of representing the insurer. Olivia has gained experienced in working with and representing both self-insured clients and Workers Compensation Nominal Insurer clients.
Olivia has gained experience whilst on secondment to a client which has enabled her to gain an understanding of each clients’ business needs and understand the industry in which they operate. Olivia’s experience assists her in advising the right strategy early and achieving outcomes for our clients.
- Recognising where early resolution of workers compensation claims can be made and also considering the business needs and requirements of the individual client.
- Liasing with investigators and obtaining surveillance footage that result in favourable outcomes for clients.
- Representing clients in the Personal Injury Commission at teleconference, conciliation and arbitrations and providing written advice to clients in a wide variety of workers compensation disputes.
- Provide advice and training to employers on reducing risk within the workplace and reducing work injury claims.
- Developing innovative ways of working that enable tasks to be completed more efficiently and to a high standard.
