Since 2016, Jordon has practiced exclusively in migration law. As part of Hall & Wilcox’s employment team, Jordon acts for major employers across Australia and globally, including government and ASX-listed companies. He is skilled in assisting organisations and individuals in achieving favourable visa outcomes and ensuring ongoing compliance with visa requirements.
Prior to becoming a migration lawyer, Jordon gained broad experience across property, commercial and family law. He now builds on this experience to offer strategic, client-focused and high-quality advice at all stages of the migration process.
- Advising on complex migration matters associated with ongoing proceedings at state and federal courts, and also authorities such as the Fair Work Ombudsman.
- Acting successfully on behalf of businesses and individuals in seeking merits review at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
- Liaising with the Minister’s office in relation to requests for ministerial intervention under section 351 of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
- Assisting individuals in developing strategies to obtain favourable visa outcomes despite restrictions under section 48 and Schedule 3 of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
- Advising individuals to ensure compliance with visa conditions while in Australia.
- Advising individuals served by the Department with Notice of Intention to Consider Cancellation.
- Acting for individuals in relation to character-related issues.
- Assisting businesses in developing defensive strategies to comply with sponsorship obligations under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
- Assisting businesses in regaining sponsorship status where they may have previously become insolvent, breached sponsorship obligations or otherwise be required to disclose adverse information.
- Undertaking migration compliance reviews for multinational businesses and completing migration-related due diligence in merger and acquisition transactions.
- Representing businesses who are subject to investigation by the Australian Border Force.
- Extensive pro bono work experience focusing on migration issues for communities experiencing marginalisation and disadvantage, including modern slavery and refugee rights.
