Jeanette is an experienced banking and finance lawyer who advises clients across the Asia-Pacific region on complex commercial and financing transactions.
Jeanette advises Australian and international lenders, financial institutions and corporate borrowers on bilateral and syndicated financings, including in real estate finance, project finance, acquisition finance and corporate finance. She is known for taking the time to understand her clients’ businesses and commercial objectives, enabling her to anticipate and mitigate legal and commercial risks before they arise.
Jeanette has extensive international experience advising on cross-border transactions and working with clients across multiple jurisdictions. She is a core member of the firm’s China practice and Southeast Asia practice and often assists clients with navigating legal and commercial considerations in both inbound investments from Asia into Australia and outbound investments from Australia into Asia.
Before joining Hall & Wilcox, Jeanette spent nearly a decade in Singapore with leading international law firms. She began her legal career there in the capital markets division of Clifford Chance (Singapore), before joining the project finance practice of Berwin Leighton Paisner (Singapore), where she advised on major infrastructure and financing projects across the region. During this time, she worked with clients throughout Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, gaining insight into the region’s diverse legal, commercial and cultural landscape.
Jeanette is passionate about strengthening economic and professional ties between Australia and Asia. She is a participant in the 2026 Asialink Leaders Program and an active member of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association. She regularly travels to Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia to maintain regional connections, foster business relationships and deepen her understanding of emerging market developments.
Jeanette is fluent in English and Cantonese, speaks conversational Mandarin and is currently learning Bahasa Indonesian.
Jeanette is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and the Supreme Court of Victoria. She is also a qualified Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) in Australia.

- Advising various borrowers on the structuring and financing of renewable energy projects in Australia.
- Acting for NewCold, a global cold logistics company, on the acquisition finance of the Karras Group and other corporate facilities to support NewCold’s growth in Australia.
- Advising Westpac Banking Corporation as lender on various business acquisition financings and general corporate financings.
- Advising Australian mezzanine lenders (including Qualitas Group, MaxCap Group and Wingate) on various acquisition, construction and residual stock financings.
- Acting as the Australian legal advisor to Tokyo Century on its acquisition of Bargain Car Rentals, a car rental business in Australia.
- Advising a global commodity trading company on various prepayment financings to companies with mining operations in Australia.
- Advising various Australian bus companies on their debt facilities to acquire new buses and depots.
- Acting for family offices on structuring and documenting intra-group financings.
- Advising Spirit Super (now CareSuper), an Australian industry super fund, on its joint acquisition, with US infrastructure investor Stonepeak, of GeelongPort.
- Advising an Australian superannuation fund on the structuring and financing of a loan to fund acquisitions and development of specialist disability accommodation.
- Advising an Australian fund management company in relation to a corporate loan to expand its domestic and global operations.
- Advising an oil trading company in relation to the development and project financing of an oil storage terminal in Indonesia.
- Advising a Philippines-based power company in relation to the acquisition of a minority stake in a geothermal power project in Indonesia.
- Advising sponsors in relation to an integrated real estate development in Myanmar featuring luxury residences, office towers, a hotel and retail space.
- Advising an Indonesian company on the refinancing of a multi-currency term loan facility and letter of credit facility to fund the construction of a power plant.
- Advising various Indonesian coal companies on their financing arrangements and project documentation, including coal supply agreements.
