James acts for both private and ASX listed clients in a range of industries, including agriculture, carbon trading, financial services, funds management, venture capital, energy and resources, civil infrastructure, and health sciences.
His practice covers corporate advisory and ASX listing rules compliance, takeovers, acquisitions and disposals, both debt and equity capital raising (public and private), venture capital investment, corporate and fund structuring, financial services advisory, and joint ventures.
James has experience in cross-border transactions and capital raisings involving a number of jurisdictions including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Ecuador, Canada, Israel and New Zealand.

- Advised Symal Group Limited on a number of strategic acquisitions, including its acquisitions of:
- the business and assets of Ascot Bin Hire, a construction and demolition waste management and bin hire business.
- Locale Civil Pty Ltd, a provider of civil infrastructure services across Victoria.
- the business and assets of McFadyen Group, a Queensland-based water contractor providing pipeline infrastructure and plant hire to the utilities sector.
- the business and assets of Timms Group, a Queensland-based integrated civil and haulage contractor and partition construction and demolition and materials repurposing business.
- the business and assets of L&D Group, a Queensland-based integrated civil contractor.
- 80 per cent of the shares in Davison Earthmovers, a leading South Australian civil construction business.
- Advised the majority shareholders of Infrastructure Capital Holdings Pty Ltd (ICH), the head company in the group that includes the trustee and fund manager of three wholesale investment funds holding collectively over $1 billion in infrastructure assets, on the sale of all of the shares in ICH to Foresight Group.
- Advised ASX listed DGO Gold in relation to a scrip for scrip takeover by Gold Road Resources.
- Advised AdAlta Limited on a number of public capital raisings including rights offers.
- Advised Senetas Corporation Limited on a number of public capital raisings including rights offers.
- Advised Associated Kiln Dryers on the divestment of the business and assets of Portland Pine Products.
- Advised leading Australian carbon abatement businesses AgriProve and Corporate Carbon Group, in relation to a range of projects and financing arrangements.
- Advised Pacific Current Group Limited in respect of a number of capital management initiatives.
- Advised LatAm Autos Limited, a leading automotive classifieds business with assets in Mexico and South America, on its restructure and other capital management initiatives.
- Advised WANT Cotton, the owner and operator of the only large-scale cotton ginning facility in the Northern Territory, on the establishment of its cotton ginning business.
- Advised Harvest Mining Holding Pty Ltd in respect of the purchase and subsequent sale of 100 per cent of the shares in Tasmanian Gold Pty Ltd, the owner and operator of the Beaconsfield Gold Mine.
