
Emma has over 7 years’ experience with a focus on construction law in both transactional and litigious construction and infrastructure matters.
Emma’s experience includes a variety of construction law disputes, including Supreme Court litigation, VCAT proceedings and adjudication applications under the Security of Payment Act.
She regularly acts for both public sector and private clients and has experience undertaking contract reviews for a variety of projects including building, infrastructure and energy contracts, advising in respect of contractual risk, standard form contracts and providing advice regarding tendering and contract negotiation.
Experience
- Preparation of submissions in Security of Payment Act adjudications, acting for both claimants and respondents in Victoria and NSW.
- Advising clients on key risk items in variety of construction contracts, including in respect of limitations of liability, extensions of time and liquidated damages.
- Assisting in preparation of claims and providing advice in a dispute with a State Government Authority in respect of a major rail project under a D&C contract.
- Undertaking departures reviews for the Australian Standards suite of contracts and providing advice for a range of projects including hospitals, aged-care facilities, childcare centres and large-scale apartment developments.
- Preparing claims correspondence for a contractor undertaking work on the West Gate Tunnel Project.
- Bespoke contract drafting for large scale asset construction and maintenance agreements.
- Assisting with preparation of upstream and downstream documentation for a solar farm project.
- Reviewing and advising in respect of Victorian Public Sector construction contracts.
