Claire is an experienced litigation lawyer who has worked across claims for both plaintiff and defendant insurer and employer clients.
Her experience includes workers’ compensation, public liability and road accident claims.
Beginning her career on the otherside of the fence in the plaintiff personal injury space in New South Wales. Claire acted for individuals in workers compensation, common law damages, road accidents, public liability, superannuation and medical negligence claims in New South Wales and appeared regularly in the Local, District and Supreme Courts, as well as the NSW Personal Injury Commission.
Claire joined Hall & Wilcox in Darwin in 2022 and has adapted to Defendant litigation seamlessly and not only brings expertise from a large jurisdiction to the Northern Territory, but the understanding of how matters are considered and litigated by Claimants.
Claire enjoys pro bono work and regularly volunteers at Redfern Legal Centre and the Top End Womens Legal Service.
Claire prides herself on her friendly and approachable nature as well as the collaborative approach she takes to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
- Assisting on workers’ compensation matters for clients such as QBE, Allianz and CGU.
- Undertaking work for insurer and employer clients which has included defending complex workers’ compensation claims, death benefit claims and recovery actions.
- Appearing and negotiationing claims at mediation and in the Work Health Court.
- Advising on compensation matters involving statutory and common law liability in the NSW workers’ compensation scheme, enabling her to bring an alternate, considered approach to the Return to Work Act 1986 (NT).
