
Cameron is an experienced construction and development lawyer in our Projects and Property team, specialising in front‑end, non‑contentious matters across commercial, residential, infrastructure and healthcare and life sciences developments. He advises principals, developers, funders and consultants on procurement strategy and project delivery mechanisms, and prepares and negotiates the full suite of construction and consultancy documentation.
Clients value Cameron for his cross-jurisdictional experience in Australia and the UK, and his ability to deliver clear, practical advice on complex projects, particularly in large-scale and high-value developments. He brings experience leading construction workstreams on significant Australian and UK projects, including major health, science and technology facilities, hotel developments, mixed-use refurbishments and private residential projects.
Cameron also advises on funding arrangements, construction security packages and complex property transactions. In Australia, his experience spans government infrastructure, hospitals, large-scale residential developments, sports facilities and major engineering consultancy arrangements.
Experience
- Led all construction aspects of a £17m science & technology development (UK), including drafting and negotiating construction contracts and consultant appointments, preparing construction reports for funder drawdowns, and arranging construction security documentation.
- Led drafting and negotiation of a £39m D&B contract for a 114,000 sq ft facility and coordinated construction procurement alongside a related £58m loan facility.
- Delivered all construction components for a £300m loan facility (UK), across multiple developments, including construction reports, procurement compliance, construction security and satisfaction of conditions precedent.
- Advised on procurement strategy and drafted and negotiated back‑to‑back consultant appointments and D&B contract for an £8.5m hotel development (UK), aligning with prescriptive tenant requirements under an agreement for lease.
- Drafted subcontract suites for a major government infrastructure projects in Australia, including a $600m state prison and $450m hospital, acting for head contractors on complex delivery structures.
- Represented a head contractor in disputes arising from a $187m residential development and advised on defective engineering design issues for a $47m municipal sports facility, as well as major transport infrastructure projects.
