
Alana works in our Employment team, helping clients navigate an increasingly complex and fast-moving regulatory environment across a broad range of workplace matters. She works across employment, work health and safety, and industrial relations areas, advising on issues such as modern award compliance, enterprise agreement interpretations, protected industrial action, unfair dismissals and general protection applications.
She works closely with clients across a variety of industries, including government agencies, maritime, labour hire, manufacturing, and real estate providing clear, strategic advice that is tailored to the commercial realities of each organisation.
Clients value Alana for her ability to distil complex legislative and regulatory frameworks into practical guidance that they can act on with confidence.
Experience
- Experience in employment litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, unfair dismissal applications, general protection proceedings and restraint of trade matters.
- Advising on work, health and safety obligations, including in respect to SafeWork NSW notices and requests for information.
- Assisting with disciplinary and performance matters, including drafting documentation in relation to sensitive and confidential terminations.
- Supporting a recruitment agency with modern award compliance, including correctly identifying classifications and application modern awards for prospective candidates.
- Advising on complex organisational restructures, the implementation of workplace change and redundancies.
- Advising and successfully representing Pendle Ham & Bacon Pty Ltd in response to a breach of the Work Health and Safety Act 2009 (NSW) proceedings commenced in the District Court by SafeWork.
