We are thrilled to have won the Mergermarket Australia M&A Collaboration of the Year Award 2020. This award recognises a unique and innovative approach to deal-making in Australia.

Our winning deal was advising Amorepacific, the world’s 12th largest cosmetics company, on its investment in Australian luxury skincare brand Rationale. Mergermarket recognised our exceptional cross-practice collaboration to advise Amorepacific on all aspects of the deal, including deal structuring, employment law, property law, health law regulatory and compliance advice.

Corporate Partners Ed Paton and John Hutchinson, with Senior Associate Chevi Levin, led the team. Corporate Partner Alison Choy Flannigan, who also leads our Health & Community industry group, advised on regulatory and compliance matters, Employment Partner Mark Dunphy, supported by Lawyer Nhu Thuy Dinh, advised on employment aspects in respect of over 100 staff. Property & Projects Partners Natalie Bannister and Emily Kyriacou and Special Counsel Nik Dragojlovic advised on the property aspects of the transaction with the 15 stores.

Mergermarket, a specialist M&A intelligence provider, celebrates the best in M&A each year and awards one winner per category for creative advisory work on complex M&A transactions.
