Leading independent business law firm, Hall & Wilcox is proud to be a supporter of the Snowdome Foundation which, in collaboration with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, recently won the inaugural 2016 Telstra Business Awards – Australian Charity Award.

The Snowdome Foundation raises funds for vital medical research and clinical trials of new treatment blood cancers. It is their mission to accelerate treatments to give patients hope that they may live a longer, better life.

In 2015, Snowdome joined forces with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, a new charity set up to fight bone marrow failure syndromes which have similarities to blood cancers and require similar treatments.

The Snowdome Foundation established this unique collaborative model which Telstra has recognised for setting new benchmarks in joint partnerships. Snowdome Foundation did this by leveraging each organisation’s respective strengths and reducing costs in doing so. Telstra also recognised Snowdome Foundation’s and Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision’s innovative approach, use of technology and entrepreneurial spirit within the charity sector.

To date the two charities have raised almost $12 million for medical research projects, enabled 14 different clinical trials of new treatments and have given hope for a longer, better life to 245 blood cancers patients across the country.

Support for Snowdome Foundation was provided recently by Partner Mark Inston through the firm’s Pro Bono and Community Program which engages with not-for-profit community groups, individuals and charities to embrace the community responsibilities that come with being a successful, respected firm and a representative of the legal profession. Director, Pro Bono and Community, Nathan Kennedy commented:

“Congratulations to the Snowdome Foundation and Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision. We look forward to continuing to support an organisation that uses an innovative approach to help our communities thrive.

We hope that this Award will help raise further national awareness and funds so that they may continue their fine work.”
