Hall & Wilcox launches innovative Market Entry App for foreign investors

News27 Aug 2024

Hall & Wilcox has launched its Market Entry App, a tool designed to assist overseas companies in navigating the complexities of the Australian market. This first-of-its-kind solution helps foreign businesses quickly understand key legal and regulatory factors before establishing a presence in Australia.

The Market Entry App is a free, online questionnaire that takes five minutes to complete. By answering a series of dynamic questions, users receive a tailored overview of essential considerations for a successful market entry. While the tool does not provide formal legal advice, it offers useful insights to help businesses address key aspects of operating in Australia. Upon completion, users receive a report summarising the steps they should consider.

Oliver Jankowsky, Partner and Head of the firm’s International Practice, led the development of the Market Entry App, working alongside Anne Utecht, who drove the project development, and Cristian Vinci, who was responsible for coding the tool.

Commenting on the new product, Oliver said, ‘Australia relies heavily on foreign investment to sustain and improve our living standards. While our regulatory landscape is generally business and investor-friendly, there are still numerous aspects to consider when first entering this market. Our goal is to make it easier for foreign investors to take the leap into Australia. This new tool, along with our existing FIRB App, give foreign investors an initial roadmap of what they need to consider. Ultimately, we want to encourage and support foreign investment in Australia.’

The Market Entry App aligns with Hall & Wilcox’s Smarter Law approach by providing a user-friendly, automated solution that enhances efficiency and client service. ‘We anticipate this product will help streamline initial conversations by addressing common queries upfront, allowing us to dedicate more time to complex advisory work that adds greater value for our clients,’ said Oliver.
