Hall & Wilcox expansion receives major boost from insurance practice

Leading independent business law firm, Hall & Wilcox, will be taking on a significant insurance practice from Sparke Helmore.
The team is led by Sparke Helmore national insurance leader Rhett Slocombe, and includes Grant Galvin, Simon Morgan, Daniel Stoddart, Nicholas Studdert and Joanna Turnbull, all of whom will be joining Hall & Wilcox as partners. The team is based in Sydney and Newcastle.

Hall & Wilcox Managing Partner, Tony Macvean, commented that the new practice will allow Hall & Wilcox to add product line and geographic breadth and depth to better service clients in the insurance and financial services sector.

“The new practice includes statutory and general insurance service lines, including workers compensation, CTP and general insurance. The practice greatly complements our existing statutory and general insurance practices and insurance and financial services sector focus.

“There is a strong strategic and cultural alignment between Hall & Wilcox and the team coming across.”

Tony commented that clients are a high priority in the transition.

“The servicing of clients is most important. We have put in place a range of measures to ensure service continuity and a seamless transition for clients.”

Tony also commented that the firm is “continuing to be on the lookout for practices and partners to help build our national footprint, where there is a strong strategic and cultural alignment and we believe that clients and the firm’s people will benefit.
