Hall & Wilcox expands restructuring and dispute resolution expertise with new Sydney partner
Hall & Wilcox has deepened its restructuring and dispute resolution expertise with the appointment of new partner Scott Harris, based in Sydney.
Scott is a highly experienced restructuring lawyer and commercial/financial disputes litigator, with more than 30 years of experience working in Australia and the United Kingdom (including managing the Australian offices and practices of a global law firm).
Known for his commercial and strategic approach, Scott is trusted by clients to manage and resolve complex restructures, formal appointments and disputes and deliver practical, outcome-focused solutions. He has deep experience advising financial institutions and alternative lenders in managing distressed lending exposures, recovering misappropriated assets and pursuing opportunities in distressed investments.
His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including real estate and REITs, natural resources and mining services, transport, agribusiness, retail and manufacturing.
Hall & Wilcox Chief Executive Partner Graydon Dowd said Scott’s appointment provides greater depth to our national dispute resolution team, particularly in commercial disputes and restructuring and insolvency.
‘Scott will enhance our capability in complex commercial disputes and restructuring matters. His international experience and established domestic client base also support the firm’s broader strategy, strengthening our profile both in Australia and globally,’ he said.
Reflecting on his new role, Scott said, ‘I am excited to join the Hall & Wilcox team and contribute to the further development of its already outstanding commercial offering to clients, and specifically to leverage the firm’s platform to service domestic and international clients in situations of financial distress or dispute.’
