Leading independent business law firm Hall & Wilcox has expanded its national insurance and litigation capabilities following the appointment of Special Counsel Vicky Kossaris, who joined the firm on 3 December.

Vicky is a leading Northern Territory-based senior practitioner and will be based in Darwin. Vicky will manage the firm’s NT insurance and litigation practice, as well as providing on-the-ground services in Darwin to our national clients.

Vicky has almost 20 years’ experience working across both commercial, insurance and government clients, with extensive experience in the Northern Territory. Vicky has acted for institutional insurer clients, major construction and engineering contractors and government departments on a wide range of insurance, commercial and civil litigation and policy and regulatory matters.

Most recently, Vicky was contracted to the Department of the Attorney-General and Justice as team leader of the agency legal unit providing legal services to the Department of Health. Before this, Vicky ran a highly successful insurance practice with Squires Paton Boggs and Minter Ellison, as well as working on complex, large-scale litigation and projects.

Partner Anton Vucak congratulated Vicky on her appointment and said the firm was delighted to welcome Vicky on board.

‘Vicky’s appointment means we will be able to provide broader geographic coverage to our insurance clients, particularly those we are already servicing nationally and further expand on the firm’s litigation and government national footprint,’ he said.

Vicky said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Hall & Wilcox, a firm that is strongly committed to its client and its markets. I am impressed by the firm’s focus and commitment in providing superior client service. I look forward to working closely with Anton and the team in continuing to service its national and corporate clients and deepening the team’s capabilities and expertise in the Northern Territory.’

Hall & Wilcox acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, sea and waters on which we work, live and engage. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
