Hall & Wilcox expands finance, corporate and regulatory expertise with new appointment
Hall & Wilcox is further enhancing the depth of its finance, corporate and regulatory practices with the appointment of senior commercial counsel Peter Jones.
Peter is an experienced finance, corporate and regulatory lawyer who is well known in the sector. He was most recently Deputy General Counsel of the Reserve Bank of Australia. He has previously worked as General Counsel at Tassal Group and was a partner at Allens for many years.
Managing Partner Tony Macvean said Peter’s appointment was a coup for the firm.
‘The calibre of Peter’s experience and his reputation within the finance sector will make him a great asset to our firm and our teams,’ he said.
‘Peter will play a key role in leading our finance practice in Sydney. Peter will also play a broader role in our corporate and regulatory practices. Peter is well known to us through the work we do with Note Printing Australia (as subsidiary of the Reserve Bank), and we think will be a fantastic fit. We are delighted that he is on board.’
Peter said, ‘Hall & Wilcox really stood out to me as a firm with an intense focus on their clients, their people and their systems. Everything I have experienced since joining has reinforced that view.
I’m looking forward to playing a part in Hall & Wilcox’s role as a leading independent Australian law firm.’
