Hall & Wilcox celebrates official opening of new Newcastle office, deepening commitment to the Hunter community
Hall & Wilcox has officially opened its new office in the heart of Newcastle at 727 Hunter Street, reinforcing the firm’s long-term commitment to the Hunter region and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and the community.
The opening marks nearly a decade since Hall & Wilcox established a presence in Newcastle, growing from a 15-person team to almost 70 today. The event brought together clients, colleagues and community partners to celebrate the new space and the firm’s growth in the region.
Hall & Wilcox Chief Executive Partner Graydon Dowd said the new office reflects the firm’s strong trajectory and deep connection to the region.
‘Our growth in Newcastle is driven by the trust of our clients, growing demand and the strength of our local team. We’re proud to be a national firm with a genuine regional presence, and this new office is a significant milestone in our journey to deliver smarter, more connected legal solutions for the Hunter.’
With key strengths in insurance, corporate & commercial, property & projects, planning, construction, commercial litigation, estate planning, workers compensation and health, the Newcastle team supports a broad mix of private and public sector clients across the region. The firm’s Smarter Law approach – leveraging innovation, technology and collaboration to solve real client problems – has been central to the firm’s growth and reputation in the Hunter.
Recently winning the Best Fit-Out at the 2025 Master Builders Association Awards, the new workspace was delivered in just 12 weeks through an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) model, and targets a 5-star Green Star rating, raising the benchmark for office environments in Newcastle. Designed with wellbeing and flexibility in mind, the office features an abundance of natural light, collaborative spaces, breakout spaces and a welcoming client zone, including a large boardroom to host events, workshops and community engagements.
Newcastle Office Partner in Charge Suzie Leask said the new space reflects the firm’s values and long-term ambitions for the region.
‘This is more than just a new office – it’s a signal of our ongoing investment in the future of our clients, our people and the wider Hunter community. The space reflects who we are and how we work: collaborative, client-focused and always evolving.’
‘We now have a space that brings people together. It allows us to better support the businesses that drive our region, with the kind of experience and service they expect from a top 10, national firm,’ Ms Leask said.
