Hall & Wilcox has broadened its specialist insurance, transport and logistics capability with the appointment of Partner Chris Sacré.

Hall & Wilcox has broadened its specialist insurance, transport and logistics capability with the appointment of Partner Chris Sacré. Chris is a highly regarded transport and trade lawyer who specialises in marine insurance, shipping and international trade.

Chris will lead the firm’s marine insurance practice, and increase the firm’s capability in speciality insurance lines. He will also bolster the firm’s expertise in global logistics and trade.

Chris advises the leading Australian marine insurers in the cargo, hull, liability and pleasurecraft space on property damage, personal injury claims and recoveries. He handles large commodity and international trade contracts and disputes litigated or arbitrated in Australia, Europe and London.

Off shore, Chris advises ship owners, operators, charterers, cargo owners, managers, agents, intermediaries and their insurers on a wide range of issues arising both within Australia and worldwide. He handles freezing injunctions, ship arrests, oil pollution claims, collisions, groundings and casualties.

On shore, Chris advises on road carriage claims and chain of responsibility issues as well as claims directed at freight forwarders under multi-modal bills of lading. He advises on contracts for the supply of petroleum products and operation of service stations for one of Australia’s largest fuel suppliers.
