Hall & Wilcox broadens financial and specialty lines practice with appointment of new Melbourne partner

Hall & Wilcox will expand its national financial and speciality lines insurance practice with the appointment of experienced insurance lawyer David Chew as a new partner.

Based in Melbourne, David will help further grow the Victorian, and associated Tasmanian and South Australian, arms of the firm’s national practice in these areas.

David specialises in professional indemnity and directors and officers liability risks, servicing insurers and corporate clients. He acts for private and publicly listed companies, corporate trustees and a range of professionals across industries including financial services, insurance, legal, construction, public sector and media and technology industries.

Managing Partner Tony Macvean said David’s appointment would add further depth to the firm’s market-leading insurance practice, and particularly its financial lines offering.

‘We have been investing in our national financial lines practice and David’s expertise will significantly expand this practice, where he will take a leading role. He is attracted to our collaborative approach and he will be a good fit. We are delighted to welcome him,’ Tony said.

David said, ‘I am thrilled to be joining Hall & Wilcox’s market-leading national insurance practice. Their collaborative approach and commitment to growth of their financial lines practice through building genuine client relationships, and delivering services focused on innovation and client needs, attracted me to Hall & Wilcox. I look forward to my new role and being part of Hall & Wilcox’s expanding national financial lines practice’.
