Hall & Wilcox bolsters planning and public sector strength with new partner
Leading independent business law firm, Hall & Wilcox, has added public sector and property expertise with Rory O’Connor joining the Property and projects team as a partner in the firm’s Melbourne office.
Rory was previously at Norton Rose Fulbright and specialises in planning and environmental law.
His experience includes major residential, commercial in-fill and growth area development proposals, infrastructure planning, compulsory land acquisition, retail planning, prosecutions and enforcement, and water law for both private and government sectors. Recently, Rory has been closely involved in the Victorian Government’s social housing program implementation and has represented the Government in planning panel hearings considering the merits of several social housing projects.
Tony Macvean, managing partner at Hall & Wilcox, said Rory’s appointment is a boost for the firm’s growing public sector practice. “Rory will add further depth to our public sector capability as well as our existing national property and projects team.
“Rory has developed a reputation for being able to cut through and make sense of complex technical issues and planning disputes.”
