Liz is the relationship partner for WorkSafe Victoria and the Statutory Insurance Vic section leader.
Liz’s practice focuses on common law and statutory benefits claims and issues under the Accident Compensation Act 1985 (Vic) and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (Vic). In particular, Liz provides advice to the Dispute Management division of WorkSafe as well as to Victorian agents and employers in relation to serious injury applications, common law proceedings and statutory benefits.
Prior to joining the firm, Liz worked for WorkSafe Victoria as a senior legal counsel managing claims agents and the legal panel in relation to impairment benefits and the management of common law litigation. Prior to that Liz was employed by TAC law working on transport accident and WorkSafe matters.
Liz is a proactive litigator who believes in a timely benefit delivery to injured workers. Liz really enjoys working with an expert client and helping it achieve the outcomes it requires to maintain a healthy buoyant compensation system which will assist injured workers in the years to come.
Liz also enjoys leading a vibrant young team. She loves helping people develop and grow both professionally and personally.
Prior to studying law, Liz worked as a Division one registered nurse in emergency departments and coronary care. This valuable experience has transferred well in the personal injury regime. Liz’s experience working as a senior legal counsel at WorkSafe Victoria was invaluable as she gained insight into the internal working of a large and complex scheme, working with directors, actuaries, lawyers, agents, and panel firms.
