Gianna De Luise has over 14 years’ experience in Trade Mark portfolio management. She started her career at a Melbourne-based leading IP firm, and has gained experience both in-house and in generalist law firms. The majority of Gianna’s trade mark career has been spent working in Europe, both within a leading law firm in London and a multinational alcoholic beverage corporation in Paris.
Gianna has worked on a variety of portfolios within a number of sectors including technology, retail and FMCG, beauty, fashion and alcoholic beverages. Some of her clients included Superdry clothing, Amazon, Boy London, Saville Row Brands, Proton, Superdrug, Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet and Beefeater Gin.
Her experience and expertise includes:
- Managing the trade mark filing programs for globally recognised alcohol brands, including advising on availability of names to preparing global filing strategies.
- Extensive experience managing trade mark portfolios, opposition proceedings including Chinese-based oppositions and counterfeit products seizure proceedings.
- Working with local customs officers to register customs notices in Europe, the United Kingdom and China. This involved identifying counterfeit products when required.
Gianna uses her international experience to identify problems and devise strategic solutions. Her key business focuses include: daily management of large and diverse trade mark portfolios, searching and watching marks for infringement, auditing and strategising client portfolio protection.
Gianna has taken part in International Trademark Association (INTA) meetings, and, over the years, has created great connections with trademark specialists across the globe. She has completed both UK and EU paralegal courses at respective TM Offices in London and Alicante.
