Fiona specialises in insurance litigation with a particular focus on fraudulent claims.

Prior to joining Hall & Wilcox, Fiona worked in plaintiff personal injury and in-house for a Worker’s Compensation insurer. She has also practiced in commercial and property law.

She has had matters run in the NSW District Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.


  • Providing advice on compulsory third party claims involving liability and quantum issues, fraudulent issues and compensation relative claims under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999 and Motor Accidents Injuries Act 2017.
  • Achieving verdicts for the defendant/insurer in CTP and Administrative Review matters.
  • Managing and running complex CARS claims.
  • Successfully having claims dismissed by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority on technical grounds.
  • Successfully having proceedings struck out by the Court on the basis of the plaintiff’s procedural breaches.
  • Multiple successes with the Medical Assessment Service in having plaintiff’s assessment below the whole person impairment threshold through Reviews and Further Assessments.
  • Pro bono work with the Afghanistan Refugee Clinic.
