COVID-19 ‘Jobkeeper’ economic plan

The Federal Government announced the ‘Jobkeeper’ economic plan this afternoon. Key details of the allowance at the time of writing are:

• Worth up to $1500 a fortnight, per employee.
• It will be paid to business to keep employees on their payroll.
• Businesses will have to prove they are paying it to their employees.
• It does not include superannuation.
• It will be delivered through existing systems at the ATO.
• It will last for at least six months.
