Hall & Wilcox Melbourne emerging artists exhibition

Hall & Wilcox invites you to attend its emerging artists exhibition promoting awareness of mental health. This event is one of the highlights of Hall & Wilcox’s Art Prize and Exhibition Program.

About the artists

ALW Clarke combines the magic of watercolour with intricate ink illustrations to explore the complex realities of depression and anxiety, alongside self-awareness and growth.

Jacquie Ingram is a self-taught Melbourne-based artist. Her artworks have been displayed in a range of settings through Melbourne and she has been fortunate enough to have her artwork featured in an upcoming documentary on the ABC.

Darcy Maine has alleviated and perhaps even cured some of the mental health trauma and side effects that manifested themselves during and after leaving a toxic workplace through getting back into touch with his artistic side.

Goodnight Thief is the pseudonym for Melbourne-based artist and part time IP lawyer George McCubbin. From his street art background, George’s paintings mix traditional techniques with graffiti and digital elements. His client list includes the Seven Network, the AFL, The Block, and Atlantic Records, amongst work held in many private collections.

Julia Bergin believes we must understand International Relations through a human lens and these motives and messages are explored in particular through her black and white lino prints. The artwork explores the relationship between the anonymous man and his environment.

This exhibition is presented in partnership with the Dax Centre. The Dax Centre promotes mental health through innovative programs centered around its heritage-listed and unique Cunningham Dax Collection. The Dax Centre seeks to change community views towards mental health issues by increasing empathy and understanding through art. A goal is the reduction of stigma towards people suffering mental health issues. Those wishing to support the Dax Centre who cannot attend the event can donate via the support us tab on The Dax centre website.
